Clock’s Ticking

The heat of summer might still be around, but the start of a new school year is not too far away.

“As summer begins to wind down I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and seeing students in the hallways again,” said South Winneshiek superintendent Kris Einck by email July 23. “Every year I get more and more excited about the start of the school and getting back into a routine. I hope everyone is having a great summer and enjoying time with family and friends. I can’t wait to see everybody in August!”

Work has been underway at South Winneshiek.

“Some of the new improvements and renovations from the summer are the construction of the new bus barn in Ossian, which will be starting soon, new floor tile in the elementary corridor, new ceiling tile in the middle school hallway, refinished elementary/middle school gym floor, new gravel road around the football field/track and additional parking/practice area at the high school sports complex,” said Einck. “These are just a few of [the] improvements and updates we’ve been completing this summer. Our custodial staff does a wonderful job keeping our facilities looking terrific!”
