Fromm Recalls Service

Editor’s Note: The Calmar Courier is profiling members of the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office who have served in the military.

After a time elsewhere, David Fromm has returned.

“Decorah is my hometown,” said Fromm. “I grew up here and have always loved Decorah and the surrounding area. When the opportunity presented itself to be able to come back and raise my family I jumped at it.”

It took some time.

“My wife (Cari) told me in 2006 that Linn County was hiring about the time I was getting out of the Army,” said Fromm. “I applied and started with Linn County in February 2007. I was with Linn County for 11 years. I was then hired by Winneshiek County in May of 2018 as a Jailer and Reserve Deputy. I served my country and wanted to serve the community that gave me so much when I was growing up here. Why wouldn’t you want to serve the great citizens of Winneshiek County, great people here?”
