High Water Ahead?

The National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is warning of the risk of flooding.

The Mississippi and its major tributaries have at least an above average chance while the rest of northeast Iowa has an upper range of normal for flooding, the weather service said in a briefing released Feb. 21.

Over a foot of snow dumped in the recent Feb. 23-24 blizzard is not helping.

The weather service is noting precipitation has been above normal by 1 to 3 inches.

Fall precipitation was approximately 150 percent of normal.
