Howard County Beats Iowa Jobs Average

Howard County beat the statewide unemployment average as Iowa saw a slight bump in unemployment.

Statewide, unemployment rose to 2.7 percent for December, up from 2.4 percent last year. Nationally, the rate was 3.5 percent.

Winneshiek County was at 3.2 percent (up from 1.8 percent in November), and Chickasaw County had 3.4 percent (up from 3.2 percent).
