Wellness Day for Turkey Valley students

Back by popular demand!  For the second year in a row, the Turkey Valley Education Foundation sponsored a full day of wellness for the 7-12th grade students.  While we were initially scheduled to return to “The W” at Wartburg College, Mother Nature had her own agenda. On March 20th, yes the first day of spring, snow and fog rolled into our towns and put Turkey Valley in a two hour delay.   With some quick thinking, major reorganization and lifting of the fog, students and staff headed over to the Cresco Fitness Center.  Both students and staff alike were able to participate in a number of activities including a batting cage, golf simulator, swimming, indoor track, exercise classes, weight room equipment, dodgeball, basketball and volleyball.  Sack lunches and water were available while at the fitness center.  When students and staff returned to Turkey Valley, fresh blueberry smoothies courtesy of the kitchen staff were waiting.  The students were very active at the fitness center and tried many different activities.  They had a great time and are looking forward to getting outside and enjoying the spring weather that hopefully is headed our way!
