Meet the Cake Lady of Winneshiek County Farmers Market

Sara Vagts from Timber Ridge Gardens Greenhouse and Bakery from West Union has been coming to both Wednesday afternoon (3-6) and Saturday morning (8-11) Winneshiek Farmers Market in Decorah for fifteen years. And if you have tasted one of her delicious cakes, you would know why she is so busy!

Sarah Vagts is known at the farmers market as 'The Cake Lady'. She makes 15 different flavors of artisan angelfood cakes, all made from scratch. She also has some pretty awesome produce as well.Sara is known around the farmers market as “The Cake Lady.” She makes 15 different flavors of artisan angel food cakes, all made from scratch besides having a wonderful array of produce! You won’t want to miss her stand at the market. Besides her wonderful cakes, she makes mini-donuts and gluten free baked goods. Her fruits and vegetables are chemical free. Right now she also has beautiful dried natural decorations that would enhance any home. Get them before they are gone! Also if you are thinking of making a warm pot of chicken soup this fall, grab her wide or narrow homemade noodles!
