Hotel Capone Opens In Spillville

Hotel Capone at 311 South Main Street in Spillville has opened their doors as a hotel upstairs and also a limo service earlier this month and now will open the downstairs bar with a limited menu July 4th weekend. As for now they will be open evenings Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Later on they will open the upstairs restaurant with a full menu and with longer hours. They are in the midst of hiring a full staff at this time.

The historical building was bought by Paul Greenberg of Decorah, Cameron Jones of Waukon and Gary Minear of Decorah who will also manage the establishment.

The inspiration to name the reopened business Hotel Capone came when they saw the painted prohibition-era mural painted by Jackie Jirak of Waucoma for former owner Robert Gust.
